Note: For claiming a discount for an unemployed spouse, you must have an affidavit tax form from the spouse. This affidavit must confirm that the spouse’s income was less than CZK 68,000 in the last tax year. For claiming a tax bonus for children, the tax discount refund application form must also confirm the spouse agrees for you to claim the bonus.
To claim a tax discount for a spouse, your spouse’s income must be under CZK 68,000. The spouse should also be taking care of a child under 3 years of age. Further, only one of the parents can apply for a child tax bonus for a child under 18 years of age (or under 26 while enrolled in higher education).
To apply for tax bonuses and discounts, you will need to electronically submit a marriage certificate and a signed tax discount application form. You must submit these to the tax office together with your final income tax report to claim tax bonuses for children.
