How Pexpats collects, maintains and presents Czech business information from multiple public sources in one English-language database.

Pexpats Czech Business Search makes it easier to research businesses registered in the Czech Republic.

Czech business information is spread across several public registers and services. Company information, trade licenses, VAT information and other registration details may come from different sources and normally need to be checked separately.

Pexpats brings this information together in one place.

We maintain a database of more than 3 million Czech business records, built from information made available through Czech public registers and official data sources.

Available information is connected to the relevant business and IČO and presented through one English-language search. The same database is also used for recent business registrations and Czech business registration statistics.

Our database update process runs every 24 hours.

Czech Business Search is free to use, available in English and ad-free.

What makes Pexpats Czech Business Search different

Czech Business Search is more than a search interface for a single Czech register.

Instead of checking different sources separately, users can find several types of available Czech business information in one place.

This includes:

Business information Business name, IČO, legal form, registration information and other available business details.

Trade-license information Available Czech trade licenses and registered business activities.

Company information Available information from Czech public/company registers for supported legal entities.

VAT information Available Czech VAT registration information and EU VAT validation where applicable.

Recent business registrations Recently registered Czech businesses based on registration information in our database.

Czech business statistics Registration trends by month, year, legal form and region, calculated from the same database.

A user can search for an individual business, check its available company, trade-license and VAT information, and also explore wider Czech business-registration data without moving between several different services.

Multiple Czech public sources in one database

The information available through Czech Business Search comes from several Czech and European public sources.

These include:

ARES — Administrative Register of Economic Subjects

ARES provides public information about economic entities registered in the Czech Republic and brings together information originating from source registers of the Czech public administration.

Trade Licensing Register — RŽP

Trade-license information is used to provide available information about Czech trade licenses and registered business activities.

Commercial Register / Public Register

Public-register information is used to provide available company and registration information for supported legal entities.

Financial Administration

Available information from Czech tax sources is used for relevant Czech VAT information.

VIES

VIES is used for EU VAT-number validation where applicable.

The respective public registers and authorities remain the sources of the underlying records.

Pexpats brings the available information together, organizes and maintains it in one database, presents it in English and uses it to provide search functionality and business statistics.

More than 3 million Czech business records

Pexpats maintains more than 3 million Czech business records.

The database is organized primarily around the Czech business identification number, IČO.

One business can have information in several underlying sources. For example, the same IČO may have general business information, trade-license information, company-register information and VAT information.

We connect the available information to the same business rather than requiring users to search each source separately.

When we show the total number of businesses in the database, the same IČO is counted only once, even if information about that business exists in several Pexpats datasets.

How the Pexpats database is kept up to date

The Pexpats database is not a one-time copy of Czech business information.

Our database update process runs every 24 hours.

Public sources can report new records, changes to existing records and deletions. We process these changes and update the corresponding information in our database.

New business information

When a new IČO is identified through the relevant source data, we retrieve the available current information and add the business to the database.

Updated business information

When an existing IČO is reported as having changed, we retrieve the latest available information from the relevant source and update the corresponding information in our database.

Deleted source information

When a deletion is reported for an IČO by a relevant source, we process the deletion for the corresponding source data.

A deletion reported by one source does not necessarily mean that the entire business has legally ceased to exist. Different information about the same IČO can come from different public sources.

This is how we keep the original database updated as subsequent changes become available instead of leaving the originally collected information unchanged.

Our update process runs every 24 hours. The individual public registers and authorities determine when their own information and changes become available.

One search instead of several separate sources

Czech Business Search does not replace Czech public registers. It makes available business information from different sources easier to find together.

When researching one Czech business, a user may otherwise need to visit several services to check different information.

With Pexpats, available information from these sources is connected around the same IČO.

Multiple public sources Information from different Czech business registers and services.

One business record Available information connected around the same IČO.

English presentation Czech business information available through an English-language interface.

Maintained database More than 3 million business records, with our update process running every 24 hours.

Business statistics Registration statistics calculated from the same database used for individual business records.

Free and ad-free No advertising inside Czech Business Search or its business database.

Czech business registration statistics

Pexpats also uses the database to calculate statistics about Czech business registrations.

These are Pexpats calculations based on registration information in our database. They are not statistics produced by a Czech public authority.

Registrations can be analyzed by:

  • month

  • year

  • legal form

  • region

  • recent registration date

For statistics based on business registrations, we use the Registration Date available in the underlying data to assign the business to the relevant period.

The same IČO is counted once within the relevant calculation.

The statistics therefore come from the same database as the individual business records available through Czech Business Search.

Registrations by legal form

We group registrations by legal form to show what types of businesses are being registered in the Czech Republic.

For these statistics, selected legal-form codes are grouped into:

OSVČ — selected self-employed business legal forms.

s.r.o. — limited liability companies.

a.s. — joint-stock companies.

Other — other legal forms in the database.

These are Pexpats statistical groupings. The underlying legal-form information from the source data is not changed.

Current-month statistics cover registrations from the first day of the month through the latest data processed by Pexpats.

Current-year statistics cover registrations from 1 January through the latest data processed by Pexpats.

Monthly and yearly Czech business registrations

Registration dates in our database are also used to show how Czech business registrations change over time.

Monthly Registrations show registrations during the latest 12 months.

Czech Business Registrations Over Time shows annual registration totals across the latest 10 years.

Completed periods are calculated from the registration dates in the database. The current month and year continue to change as new information becomes available and is processed.

These statistics use the same database as the individual Czech Business Search records.

New Czech business registrations by region

We also calculate how current-year business registrations are distributed across the Czech Republic.

Businesses are grouped using the region associated with the business in the underlying data.

The statistics cover all 14 regions of the Czech Republic:

Hlavní město Praha Středočeský kraj Jihočeský kraj Plzeňský kraj Karlovarský kraj Ústecký kraj Liberecký kraj Královéhradecký kraj Pardubický kraj Kraj Vysočina Jihomoravský kraj Olomoucký kraj Zlínský kraj Moravskoslezský kraj

Current-year statistics cover businesses with registration dates from 1 January through the latest data processed by Pexpats.

Latest companies registered in the Czech Republic

Czech Business Search also shows recently registered Czech businesses represented in our database.

Depending on the available information, this can include:

  • business or company name

  • IČO

  • legal form

  • region

  • registration date

  • Czech Business Search profile

The registration date is the date associated with the business registration in the underlying data.

It is not the date when Pexpats processed or updated the record.

For example, an existing company can receive an update today because some of its information changed. This does not make it a newly registered company.

Business activity and source changes

Business registration statistics and subsequent business activity are different types of information.

Historical registrations can be calculated from registration dates already available in our database.

We also process subsequent source changes identifying new records, updates and deletions. This information can be used to build separate business-activity statistics for the periods in which these changes are collected.

We do not present historical source-change activity as directly observed data for periods where the necessary historical change information was not collected.

This keeps historical registration statistics separate from subsequently collected business activity.

Free, English and ad-free Czech business search

Pexpats Czech Business Search is free to use, available in English and ad-free.

There are no advertisements inside the business search or business database.

The service makes Czech business information easier to access for international entrepreneurs, companies, professionals and other users who may otherwise need to navigate several Czech-language public-register interfaces.

Czech Business Search combines an English interface, information from multiple public sources, more than 3 million maintained business records, trade-license information, company information, VAT information and Czech business statistics in one place.

It is more than a basic IČO lookup.

Pexpats database and the original public registers

The original public registers remain the sources of the underlying information. Pexpats has a different purpose.

Public registers maintain the original records. Pexpats connects available information from multiple sources around the same business.

Public registers provide their respective source information. Pexpats brings available information together in one English-language search.

Public registers provide individual records and source data. Pexpats also calculates registration statistics from its maintained database.

Pexpats does not replace the public registers. It makes information from multiple sources easier to search, connect and analyze together.

Data coverage, freshness and limitations

Czech Business Search reflects information processed from our connected public sources.

Different registers contain different types of information and can make changes available at different times. Not every business has every type of record.

Our update process runs every 24 hours, but this does not mean that every underlying public source publishes new information every 24 hours.

We process the latest information available through our update system. The timing, completeness and accuracy of the original information depend on the respective source registers.

Information displayed through Czech Business Search is provided for informational purposes.

For legally authoritative information or formal verification, users should consult the relevant Czech public register or authority.

Corrections and source changes

If information displayed in Czech Business Search appears incorrect or outdated, please contact Pexpats and provide the relevant IČO.

We can check the displayed information against the relevant public source.

Requests concerning personal data are handled in accordance with the Pexpats Privacy Policy.

We do not replace official source information with unverified information provided by a user.
