What you need to provide
Passport
Proof of your legal accommodation (e.g. rental contract, ownership deed, or proof of accommodation form from the legal property owner)
Two (2) passport ID-sized photos**
A signed power of attorney for our arrangement of your permanent residence (to be completed at our office)
**Photos should be in colour and 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with a white background.

An EU citizen's permanent residency green book is valid for 10 years and can be always extended for 10 years in one appointment. 

Why I should have a permanent residency?
As an EU citizen, you’re not required to apply for permanent residence in the Czech Republic. If you’re planning to stay in the country for a while though you’ll find that having a Czech permanent residence permit brings some crucial advantages. 

Two of the most important benefits of permanent residency over temporary residency concern your eligibility for a mortgage and public health insurance. As a permanent resident, you will find it easier to:
obtain a mortgage
obtain public health insurance as a sole payer. This is the case even if you don’t have a job or trade licence.

After holding a permanent residence permit for 5 years, you are eligible for Czech citizenship.
